Raksha Bandhan First Day Box Office Collection, It's Low

Raksha Bandhan had a low first day (Thursday) at the box office. The film did decent in the main heartland of India and B and C centers and that's it. The business was poor in the rest of India. Most shocking is film even failed to touch the double-digit mark for the day considering it was a partial holiday.

Raksha Bandhan collected 8.2 crore nett approx on Day 1. Actuals have come slightly lower than the estimates we have given yesterday. The film has registered an average occupancy of 23-25% on the first day. Occupancy is also low considering it was a holiday in many parts of India.

Raksha Bandhan has got mixed reviews both from critics and audiences. That is not a good sign despite the weekend and Independence Day holiday still to come. There may be some drop also on day 2 as it is a working day in most parts of India.

If ground-level reports are positive then the film will see a good jump from Saturday onwards. Film best occupancy should come on Sunday and Monday (Independence Day). Again from Tuesday onwards, there might be a big drop coming in.

Akshay Kumar has given back-to-back big flops in Samrat Prithviraj and Bachchan Paandey. Hence, it is crucial that he delivers success at least with Raksha Bandhan. If Raksha Bandhan also bites the dust then Akshay has to do a lot of introspection and think about his work style and choose his future projects carefully.

  2. Akshay Kumar who plays the role of Lala Kedarnath, owner of a chaat shop, has been paid the most amount and his fees for Raksha Bandhan will leave you stunned. As per GQ India, the actor was paid a whopping 110 Crore to play the lead role.

    1. This puts the budget at 150 Cr at least. This will be a massive failure then. Two disasters on a single Friday. Wow!

    3. Theatrical will be based on DP, and DP will be based on actor fee and other production costs. If not, then it may do okay theatrically but producers will be in red. Same result.
