Jayeshbhai Jordaar Day 1 (Friday) Box Office Collection

Jayeshbhai Jordaar has taken a horrific start at the box office on Friday (First Day). The film reported single-digit occupancy almost all through the day. This is even shocking considering the film starred Ranveer Singh who has a decent fan following at least in metros and big cities.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar collected 3.25 crore nett approx on day 1. Disappointing! Yes, a Salman or Shah Rukh or Aamir or Hrithik starrer film is missing post-pandemic times. But even excluding them a 3-4 crore nett opening for a Bollywood movie is simply shocking. We are short of words. This same Ranveer Singh delivered blockbuster hits in Simmba, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat in pre-pandemic times.

The worst part of Jayeshbhai Jordaar's first day collection is that the first-day occupancy is around 8-10%. The film reached double digit occupancy only because the film showed some kind of growth in evening and night shows. Otherwise, whole day occupancy would have remained at the 6-8% level.

The problem is even if Jayeshbhai Jordaar shows miraculous growth from here on, where it will go? A 3 crore nett business is not at all bad if the film shows miraculous trending (like, say a Pushpa) for at least 5-6 weeks. Is that possible with two more significant film releasing next week?

Let's don't be so pessimist and hope that Jayeshbhai shows a jump of 60-70% if not more on Saturday and stays strong for at least 2-3 weeks to salvage some pride.

  2. This is shocking.
Bollywood is in a bad way if one of it's biggest stars cannot give big numbers

  3. One has to understand the firm resolve of Hindustan to give a slapstick experience to these BollyDawoodiyas. Besides it the side effects of Librandu Deepika's JNU theatrics still have their say. Take it granted, Lilliput Amirkhan, Thuglife Salmankhan and hypocrite Shahruk khan movies will face the same ire. If nepotism flagbearer Karan joker get out of his safe game of Hindi dub versions of South movies, he will get his share of slaps too
