Bachchhan Paandey Friday (1st Day) Box Office Collection, Good Start

Bachchhan Paandey had a good start to its box office campaign on opening Friday (day 1). The film started well in morning shows and showed solid pace and momentum all through the day. Despite facing a stiff storm in The Kashmir Files, Bachchan Pandey stood on its own and did well. Now it is up to Saturday (Day 2) and Sunday (Day 3) to put up a good first weekend total.

Bachchan Pandey has collected 13.25 crore nett approx on the first day. The film reported an occupancy of 55% for the opening day which is damn good. The majority of cinema halls were closed in Morning and noon time. Hence, considering everything Bachchan Pandey did well.

The jump on Saturday may not be that huge as BP has done pretty well. Still, a 20-30% growth is expected considering cinema halls will be open from morning itself. A 40-50% jump may be missing as the film has done pretty well on day one. Any growth will be good. The only concern is that film should not go flat or show drop on Day 2.

Bachchan Pandey's initial ground-level report is mixed. Critic's word of mouth is also mixed but doesn't matter as critics are useless these days and all depends on the theatre-going audiences. We will have a clear idea of the audience's word of mouth by the end of the day.

  1. Toilet: Ek prem katha got similar opening on far lesser screens & the trade called it a disappointing opening. It was only after the movie picked up over the weekend that the trade rejoiced. Here, the makers & trade are celebrating this mediocre opening completely oblivious to the fact that against them a supposedly small film is going to collect 50% more on its 8th day.
