Radhe is a Big Success on DTH, closing on 1 crore Footfalls and has generated Rs 250 crores already

Radhe has not only emerged as a huge success on the OTT platform but also emerged as a big success on the DTH platforms. Already around 9 million views are garnered on Zee5 and ZeePlex platforms in the extended first weekend. Now the news is coming in that Radhe has registered a whopping 0.7 million views on the DTH devices in the first 3 days itself. Numbers are simply insane again.

As per reports, Radhe was viewed on 7 lakh devices across various DTH platforms such as Tata Sky, Airtel Digital, Dish TV, and d2h. It means around Rs 17 crores plus is generated from these DTH platforms alone, which is simply staggering. However, Zee will get a part of the revenue generated by these DTH platforms.

Radhe has so far generated Rs 230-240 crores plus from across all platforms (Zee5 + ZeePlex + DTH platforms). In addition, the film has also done Rs 14 crore plus business in the overseas market. It means overall business done by Radhe so far is in excess of a whopping Rs 250 crores. This is unprecedented considering the film skipped a theatrical release in India.

As Zee5 and ZeePlex are Zee's own platforms and hence, all the revenues generated are with them. However, Zee will get a share from the earnings made from the Overseas market and DTH platforms. Zee earnings so far from Radhe should be anywhere between Rs 225-230 crores. Again, these are bare minimum figures, and actuals may be even higher.

Also, Radhe is closing on 1 crore footfalls from all platforms. In fact, as we write this article, film might have crossed the 1 crore footfall barrier. Radhe has already registered 99 lakh footfalls from all OTT and DTH platforms. These are first weekend numbers only. It means the film should have easily crossed the 1 crore mark by now. Then there is an overseas footfall in addition to it.

Radhe's business is definitely a big surprise for all. Despite the film receiving extremely mixed reviews from critics and users, the stardom and star power of Salman Khan is fully intact. There is simply no dent in the business of Radhe so far.

Radhe is released in Pay-Per-View (PPV) model on the OTT and DTH platforms. This is kind of new for Indian audiences. But again film is a huge success with this PPV model experiment and numbers are still counting and getting adding up. No doubt Radhe has opened a new style of film viewing for all and we might see many films going Radhe way in the coming future.

  2. The number of views are only provided by Zee, and they may inflate the viewing figures.
Cannot equate views with cost of purchase to give a collection.
Others are reporting Zee will lose money on Radhe.
