He seems to be modelled after fading Hollywood’s cult action hero ‘Rambo’. Director Ahmed Khan takes such cartoonish liberties that you mind boggles at the nonsense that’s being hurled at you. Apart from the impressive stunt sequences and nuggets of humour that lands, there’s very little working for ‘Baaghi 3’ where Ronnie’s rampage goes global and he wants to take down militant outfit in Syria. The viewers thought? Who will save us from Ronnie?

Agreed, three choppers heaped up over each other completes a compelling visual. But with little thought extended to justify how they got there, renders this one as a brain-numbing watch.

This could be the longest-running franchise of Hindi Cinema, but as a fan of this genre and especially the first Baaghi, I'm hoping to see something refreshing in the next film. Because sometimes, not only the story, the stunts need reinvention too!

That being said, this is a film obviously aimed at the single screen audience and given Tiger Shroff’s loyal following, it may just work the box-office numbers. It's a pity that despite its gravity-defying stunts and impressive firepower, Baaghi 3, the third edition of a successful franchise ends not in a bang but a whimper.

In the end, the film is about selfless love between siblings. If you want to call me a rebel, so be it, says Tiger in the last scene.

Click this link for detailsBaaghi 3, the makers revealed in a behind-the-scenes video, was shot on a set with a radius of 2.5 kilometers. There are helicopters, missile tanks and hundreds of cars. It’s stylised to the level of madness. Yet, the film lacks sincerity. Now, how can one justify a two-star police officer being sent to Syria to head an anti-terrorism mission! And how can one terrorist organisation be called ‘Jaish-E-Lashkar’ when the literal meaning of both Jaish and Lashkar is ‘army’! Combining the names of two widely-known terrorist groups to coin a new one sometimes doesn’t help! Baaghi 3, in a nutshell, survives mostly on its action and its lead star’s innate ability to perform it effortlessly.

But even he needs a compelling story to hang that action on. Otherwise all his hard work doesn’t add up to much. And we leave the theater feeling pummeled like those countless men he hits in this film.

ReplyDeleteTiger can please do something else?! So whenever u bring axion audience would be yearning for your style of stunt cuz you r becoming repetitive and predictable. Same action and same A la michael Jackson type dancing🙄. Toomuch of one thing is good for for nothing!
