Chand Mera Dil has ended its opening weekend on a disappointing note as the film failed to show the kind of growth that was needed to boost its box office prospects. The film collected ₹4.5 crore net approx on Day 3 (Sunday), taking the first weekend total to ₹11.25 crore net approx.

The film registered an occupancy of around 20-21% on Sunday. Despite showing growth over the weekend, the overall numbers have remained below expectations and are not enough to provide confidence going forward.

Ideally, the film needed at least ₹15 crore net approx in the opening weekend to keep hopes alive at the box office. Even that figure may not have been entirely sufficient, but it would have provided some breathing space heading into the weekdays.

Now, all eyes are on Day 4 (Monday). Chand Mera Dil now requires a miraculous hold on Monday to stay alive in the box office race. The Day 4 collection needs to remain close to the Day 1 total for the film to have any realistic chance of survival.

Even a nominal drop from the Friday total may not help the film’s cause now, considering the weak opening weekend performance.
