The Bengal Files Movie Review
Star Cast - Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher
Director - Vivek Agnihotri
1. First Post -
Rating Score -> 2/5
The Bengal Files is indeed a gripping story, but the execution could have been better and I wish the film was stitched better and edited properly so that we didn’t have to sit through three and half hours and come out with a heavy heart.
2. News 18 -
Rating Score -> 2/5
The Bengal Files is definitely loaded with agony and cataclysmic events. It strains for impact but the absence of sharpness and urgency leads it to remain a curiously flat film. It’s also baffling how a story that tells the history of Bengal was earlier titled The Delhi Files.
3. Indian Express -
Rating Score -> 1.5/5
Vivek Agnihotri’s film comes unstuck in its loose, confused stretched-out execution. It is no one’s case that turbulent history shouldn’t be examined and interrogated cinematically: art is nothing if it doesn’t provoke or challenge, but it is not art if it incites or inflames.

Vivek Agnihotri injects a booster dose of communal poison. Marked by compelling performances and inflammatory storytelling, unbridled propaganda of ‘The Bengal Files’ is designed to incite majoritarian anger
5. Times of India -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Agnihotri taps into this untold narrative, making the audience confront those stories, however uncomfortable it makes them. The film has all the ingredients to spark heated debates: its historical perspective, its blame on certain leaders, and its insistence on dwelling on violence. Yet, amid the excesses, it also manages to connect at an emotional level, offering glimpses into suffering that transcend politics.
6. India TV -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
There are some painful scenes in the film that show cruelty, but they are filmed very thoughtfully and correctly. These scenes have a deep impact on the audience due to their truth and story. Overall, 'The Bengal Files' is a historical film that gives an important message and forces the audience to think.
7. Komal Nahta -
Rating Score -> n/a
The Bengal Files is a well-researched film but its box-office potential seems to be bleak.
