Bholaa Advances are Slow, All Depends on Spot Booking

Bholaa in 3D is the biggest release of this week. The film stars Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead roles and that is enough to create curiosity among moviegoers. Ajay Devgn and Tabu last delivered a blockbuster hit in Drishyam 2 and hence curiosity is even high this time.

Drishyam 2 despite emerging as a Blockbuster, its advance booking was low and the story looks like the same for Bholaa also. Actually, most of Ajay Devgn's films have comparably low advances and depend more on the spot bookings. For Bholaa also story looks no different.

Bholaa advances are pretty low till the last report was filled in. There is no doubt that spot booking will be better. The film also has to depend on ground-level word of mouth. The film is getting a release in mid-week and has to battle it out on Thursday and Friday. If everything goes well then it will definitely shoot up on the weekend.

On one hand, Bholaa will enjoy a partial holiday on Thursday. But on the other hand, this is the Ramadan period and a significant number of Muslim audiences will stay away from cinema halls. That will have an adverse effect on Bholaa. So, it will be interesting to track the box office progress of Bholaa. Generally, most makers avoid releasing their films during the Ramadan period.

Bholaa will release on 3500-4000 screens across India. Already around 3000+ plus screens are allocated. Screen allocation is still going on. We will have a clear idea by the end of the day. A double-digit opening for Day 1 (Thursday) is a must. Anything below that and alarm bells will start ringing. Anything above that means the film has a good chance of putting in respectable numbers for the weekend.

  1. Hoping for a 50cr 4-day. Something like 14 + 10 + 12 + 14 = 50 sounds feasible?

  2. As Advance booking is very less.
Only 36,000 Tickets sold till 11 pm.
A lot will depend upon current day audience.
