1. India TV -

Rating Score -> 2/5
Akshay Kumar-Emraan Hashmi's dull performances make it unbearable to watch. The storyline is very simple and disastrous. Selfiee lacks forceful jokes and has cheap humour, and repetitive satire. While for some parts, the comedy worked but soon you start to get bored.

2. Indian Express -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi film is not even trying to be more than it is. This film has an interesting premise but it is never allowed to overshadow its larger-than-life hero Akshay Kumar himself.

3. Times of India -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Selfiee is an easy-breezy watch, with some good performances and several laugh-out-loud moments. If you're looking for a rib-tickling comedy over the weekend, this one could be a good pick.

4. DNA -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
The film tries to entertain but in the safest and most market-friendly way possible. It props up on the shoulders of two likable stars and a decent plot but never dares to give the audience anything new or something they haven’t seen before. Watch it only if you are an Akshay or Emraan fan!

5. Rediff -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
License To Drive Crazy. Malayalam cinema isn't the same as Telugu or Tamil, but Bollywood's blanket approach fails to see the distinction in Selfiee.

6. India Today -

Rating Score -> 3/5
The editing is crisp. The background music is on point and the film is enjoyable. The fact that Selfiee has taken the good parts from Driving Licence and given it a touch of its own is what makes this remake a good watch as well. If you are looking for a fun watch this weekend, you have one!

7. News 18 -

Rating Score -> 3/5
The film does take a stand in favour of the film stars, to show how vulnerable their reputation is in the hands of the media and the public. At the same time, it also highlights the fickle-minded mob, which one day bays for blood and next day worships the same actor, as soon as he manages to gain some sympathy. When Akshay Kumar high-jumps into an angry mob to save Emraan Hashmi, the director makes it clear who the real hero is. It’s the star who wins, at the end of the day.

8. Bollywood Hungama -

Rating Score -> 3/5
SELFIEE works due to the plot, direction, dialogues and face-off between Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi. At the box office, the film will have to rely on strong word of mouth and spot bookings to make a mark.

9. Komal Nahta -

Rating Score -> n/a
Selfiee is a very entertaining fare. But the fact that Akshay Kumar’s recent films have bombed at the box-office with alarming regularity will, of course, take its toll on the business of this film because of the shockingly horrendous opening it has taken. Although the positive word of mouth for the film will see its collections grow, the business in the final tally will not match its merits.

10. NDTV -

Rating Score -> 2/5
Script isn't King inSelfiee. It is an unabashed Akshay Kumar show. The star leaves absolutely nothing to chance. He stamps himself on everything that the vapid film has on offer. The narrative (derived from the late Sachy's screenplay) is tweaked and stretched to make space for an actor in search of a hit. But nothing clicks.

11. Hindustan Times -

Rating Score -> n/a
Selfiee ticks most of the boxes that Hindi film audiences look for. So, if you are fine with Akshay Kumar continuing to do Hindi remakes of films from the South, you would definitely enjoy Selfiee, even if you have seen the original Malayalam film. After all, isn't this what everyone is craving for - mass entertainers that can bring audiences back into theatres.

12. The Hindu -

A captivating script drives this thrilling Akshay Kumar-starrer. Akshay Kumar channels the swag of the superstar and imbues it with his inherent simplicity to make his character, Vijay Kumar, absolutely relatable
