Overall Word of Mouth (Critics) - Negative!

1. Times of India -

Rating Score -> 2/5
‘Cirkus’ is a busy film filled with a battery of characters put together with a purpose to make us laugh, but is far from that. Entertaining the audience with slapstick comedy and drama is a tightrope that Rohit Shetty has successfully walked before but this time he seems to have tripped several times along the way.

2. Times Now -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Cirkus is a sincere attempt by Rohit Shetty to deliver a commercial extravaganza to all the Bollywood lovers who enjoy 'his' type of films with an ensemble cast. And guess what? Cirkus does have a stellar star cast but it is Sanjay Mishra who steals the show with his comic timing.

3. India Today -

Rating Score -> 2/5
Cirkus has its moments. The climax is genuinely funny and Ranveer’s energy shines in most scenes, but as a package it fails to give you that current ka jhatka which you expected.

4. Rediff -

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
There's absolutely no chemistry between Ranveer and Varun. Or Ranveer and his love interests. Speaking of love, Deepika Padukone in one item song shows more spunk than Pooja Hedge and Jacqueline Fernandez do in the entire duration of the movie.

5. Taran Adarsh -

Rating Score -> 2/5
#Cirkus: OUTDATED. Rating: ⭐️⭐️ Lacks entertainment and humour you associate with a #RohitShetty film… Has some funny moments [second half], but the spark is missing. #CirkusReview

6. Indian Express -

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
Revving up the livewire Ranveer Singh up with ‘bijli ke jhatke’ is so extra that it should have induced non-stop, over-the-top hilarity, Shetty ishtyle. But the gags don’t land; neither does, for the most part, the lead star.

7. Hindustan Times -

Rating Score -> n/a
Cirkus is based on William Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors. I would leave you with that thought and let this sink in as it may take a while. Watch it only if you are an ardent Ranveer Singh fan and can muster the courage to watch him get so terribly wasted.

8. The Hindu -

Rating Score -> n/a
At one point, running out of alliterations, Mishra describes the proceedings as  Ooty ki ootpatang. That is what Cirkus is; a reckless ruckus in Ooty. Unless someone else is paying for the ticket, it is better to get into a quilt and catch up with the exploits of Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma on television once more.

9. Komal Nahta -

Rating Score -> n/a
On the whole, Cirkus is a poor fare and will not be able to make any mark at the ticket-windows. For its canvas and budget, it will do below-average business at the box-office.

10. NDTV -

Rating Score -> 1/5
Ranveer Singh can bring a great deal of natural gusto to a role. Here, too, he does pretty much the same, but the two roles that he is stuck with are awfully insipid.

11. Deccan Herald -

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
In reality, it’s the audience who feels ‘shocked’ by this ultra-boring film. It’s right to borrow a line from the film and aim it at the filmmaker: “Shock you, Shetty”!

12. Mid-day -

Rating Score -> 2/5
I don’t know how many of you remember Shetty’s semi-hilarious All The Best (2009). Chances are you still remember star-kalakar Sanjay Mishra, delivering a cross between villains Pran and Jeevan in that pic: “Dhondu? Just chill!”  This time, he goes 100 per cent Jeevan instead. For that, and much else, as an audience, I wish you all the best.
