Raksha Bandhan is the biggest release of this week along with Laal Singh Chaddha. Raksha Bandhan stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role whereas Laal Singh Chaddha stars Aamir Khan. A titanic battle awaits at the box office.

Both films are getting near about the same screening across India. Raksha Bandhan's screen count is slightly lower than Laal Singh Chaddha whereas showings are near about the same. We have already posted the advance booking report of Laal Singh Chaddha and, in this post will discuss the advances of Raksha Bandhan so far.

As per the latest, Raksha Bandhan has reportedly registered 5-6% advances (11 am IST) so far across India for the first day (Samples only). Advance booking is very slow and low. Ideally, advances should have crossed 10% by now considering film will enjoy a holiday in many parts of India.

Again Akshay Kumar's films generally register low advances and depend on the spot bookings. The story may be the same in the case of Raksha Bandhan also. Still, there are 20 hours or so left and we are hoping that advances will speed up today.

Trade is expecting Raksha Bandhan to take an opening of 10-15 crore nett at the box office. Anything below the double-digit will be a below-par start even considering post covid scenario and box office clash with Laal Singh Chaddha.

Screen allocation of Raksha Bandhan is still going on and many cinemas have not yet started the advances. We will put up the screen count report in a separate article in the later half of the day.
