Samrat Prithviraj Day 1 (Friday) Box Office Collection Update for Morning, Decent to Good Start

Samrat Prithviraj has taken a decent to good opening at the box office on Friday (1st day) morning shows as early samples are coming in. This is pretty good news considering advance booking for day 1 was low and earlier it was looking as if the film will take a slow start. That is not the case anymore.

Prithviraj has opened to 20% occupancy in the morning shows today. Samples are from multiplexes only and there is no doubt that the film will take a better opening on single screens. A 20% opening is good if the film sees a significant jump from here on.

Prithviraj is releasing on good 3700 screens across India. A decent occupancy also will take the film beyond the double-digit start. However, the film needs an opening of close to 20 crore nett for the day. For that, it needs a big jump in the latter half of the day. Potential is very much there and the only issue is the footfall now.

We are waiting for both critics and audiences word of mouth reports. Critic's reports hardly matter nowadays. We hope that the audience feedback is on the positive side. Prithviraj is riding on a very high budget. Not only film will need a good opening but also will need a good jump on Saturday and Sunday to put up a respectable box office number for the opening weekend. Let's see how things unfold in the coming shows.
