83 Movie Advance Booking Report for Opening Day

83 is the biggest release of the week. The film is making waves across social, electronic, and print media as the film is made on India's world cup triumph in 1983. It is an underdog story based on team India winning the cricket world cup against all odds. Sounds great!



Now coming to film's advance booking report at the box office. 83 is gathering just a decent advance so far. Wherever advance booking is started, an advance of 15% or so is seen till the last report. It is strictly ok. 


Honestly, we have expected a bit more after the advance booking euphoria of Spider-Man last week. Still, it is not that bad, and considering the film will get a wide release across India and that also in multiple languages.


Spider-Man raised our expectations despite releasing in the post-covid era. If we compare 83 with other releases then advance is not at all bad. If film word of mouth picks up then the film can still get a good opening as occupancy will pick up in the latter half of the day via spot booking.


A double-digit opening for Friday is on expected lines. As tomorrow is Christmas eve, expect occupancy to grow especially in the evening and night shows. Hence in an ideal case scenario, a box office business of 15 crore net will be a pretty good start. 


A 10 + crore net is a must considering the film is carrying a high budget. Anything below double-digit opening will send a shockwave across the industry for sure. On another hand, if the film gets an opening of 15 crore net or close to that, it will send a smile as Christmas and New Year Holidays are still to come.

  1. A 15cr start would be a Disaster because of the high budget.
    The same start as Spiderman is needed because of the budget.

  2. Telugu, Tamil, & even Hollywood releases are clocking 30+ crore openings now & BollyJokers are happy with even a 15 Cr opening for a massively over budgeted film!!! Clearly, these BollyJokers realise that they’ve lost the trick to attract audiences
