Sooryavanshi is reporting solid occupancy all across India on Day 18 that is on the third Sunday. The opening is better than the 3rd Saturday (17th day) and the film is all set to end the third weekend on a high. Despite entering 3rd week, the film is still doing well and a solid Sunday is on cards now.
When samples of the morning and noon shows (limited data) of 3rd Sunday (18th day) are compared to 3rd Saturday (17th day) then there is an occupancy jump of 50-60%. That is excellent. But again there will be a drop in occupancy from evening onward as tomorrow is Monday. On the other hand, Saturday saw growth in evening and night shows. Hence, overall occupancy growth for the day will be less than what it is right now.
Looking at the samples so far, Sooryavanshi is expected to touch or cross 5 crore net for the day. If film shows solid trending in the evening and night shows then 5.5 crore net or even more for the day is also a possibility. Again a lot of shows are still left for the day and we are giving a prediction based on very limited samples at this moment.
Sooryavanshi should touch 178-179 crore net by the end of the third weekend. The film should go close to or even touch 185 crore net by the end of the third week. It means just around 15 crores or so is needed from week four onwards. But again here comes the real test.
There are two significant releases in Antim and Satyameva Jayate 2 and there is no doubt that screens will be further reduced for Sooryavanshi. However, if the film holds its own against those two mentioned films then it can still touch or go beyond 200 crore net in India.
