Afternoon Update: Ramayana: Part 1 has witnessed growth in afternoon shows, with the latest reported Hindi occupancy standing at around 23–25%. Overall Hindi occupancy until 2 PM IST is approximately 20–21% on Day 1.
While the film has shown some progress in the afternoon, the overall box office trend so far remains decent. All eyes are now on the evening shows, where a significant jump in occupancy is needed to boost the opening-day collection.
As of now, Ramayana: Part 1 is on track to touch and possibly cross the ₹40 crore net mark in India (Hindi version only). However, ideally, the film needs to go past ₹50 crore net, which would be a fantastic start to its box office campaign, especially considering the pre-Diwali period.

Morning Update: Ramayana: Part 1 has taken a decent start at the Hindi box office on Day 1 (Thursday), with morning shows reporting an occupancy of around 16-18%. The opening is neither outstanding nor disappointing, with the film registering a moderate start. However, a significant jump in occupancy is expected as the day progresses.
It is important to note that this is the pre-Diwali period, when a considerable section of the audience will be occupied with festive preparations and celebrations. This could keep the initial footfall relatively subdued. However, post-Diwali, the film is expected to witness a much stronger audience turnout as people return to theatres.
That said, it is extremely important for Ramayana: Part 1 to deliver good to very good box office numbers through Sunday. The ground-level word of mouth after Diwali will play a crucial role in determining the film's long-term box office performance.
Ideally, the film needs to cross ₹40 crore net in Hindi on Day 1 to register a fantastic opening. Anything above that would be a bonus, while a figure below this mark could be considered below par given the film's enormous expectations.
For all languages combined, Ramayana: Part 1 should comfortably cross the ₹50 crore net mark and aim for ₹60-70 crore net or even higher on its opening day.
