Night Update: Welcome to the Jungle has shown solid growth in occupancy during the evening and night shows. The film has registered around 40% occupancy in the evening-night, pushing its overall Day 1 occupancy to approximately 25-27%. Based on the latest trends, Welcome to the Jungle Day 1 Box Office Collection is expected to be in the range of ₹16-17 crore net in India, which is a decent result considering its slow start in the morning. However, a few late-night shows are still left, so the final Day 1 collection may vary slightly.
Ideally, Welcome to the Jungle was targeting a ₹20 crore net opening, especially as Friday was a holiday due to Muharram. In that sense, the film has underperformed slightly. That said, the opening is still respectable, and if the film records healthy growth on Day 2 (Saturday), it can still post a strong first weekend total. However, the jump could have been stronger considering the Muharram holiday in several parts of India. Overall occupancy for the day so far stands at around 19%.
Based on the trend till 1:45 PM IST, Welcome to the Jungle Day 1 Box Office Collection is targeting approximately ₹13-15 crore net in India. Ideally, the film needs a higher number to strengthen its opening day performance. With the evening and night shows still to come, it has enough time to recover further and improve its Day 1 total.
Morning Update: Welcome to the Jungle has taken a slow start on Day 1 (1st Friday) with the morning shows. The film has registered an occupancy of around 12-14% in the morning, which is a decent but not good opening. Ideally, considering the film's scale, star cast, and pre-release buzz, it needed a 15-20% opening occupancy. However, this is just the morning update, and the film still has the entire day to show growth. If occupancy improves steadily during the noon, afternoon, and evening shows, the film can comfortably cross the double-digit mark on its opening day. Based on the initial morning trends, Welcome to the Jungle Day 1 Box Office Collection is expected to be around ₹12-14 crore net in India. The film had already collected approximately ₹3.5-3.75 crore net from Thursday paid previews.
