Chand Mera Dil Day 1 Box Office Collection: Film Takes Poor Start on Opening Friday
Chand Mera Dil has taken a disappointing start at the Indian box office on Day 1 (Opening Friday) as the film failed to register the kind of numbers that were expected before release.
As per early estimates, the film collected around ₹3 crore net on its opening day in India. The start is clearly below the desired level and puts the film under immediate pressure heading into the weekend.
The film also recorded a low occupancy of around 16-17% on Friday, which again remained underwhelming. Occupancy levels needed to be much stronger to provide momentum for the weekend run, but the response on Day 1 suggests otherwise.
Chand Mera Dil Day 1 Box Office Collection Falls Below Expectations
With a weak opening behind it, Chand Mera Dil now urgently needs a major push at the box office. The film will require growth of over 50-60% on Saturday (Day 2) to keep hopes alive and improve its weekend trajectory.
A ₹15 crore+ net opening weekend was seen as the minimum requirement to give the film a fighting chance at the box office. However, Friday’s low start indicates that achieving that target now looks difficult.
Even then, a ₹15 crore-plus weekend would only have given the film some breathing space rather than ensuring success. The film still needed strong word-of-mouth and sustained growth over the coming days.
Saturday Box Office Trend Will Be Crucial
All eyes are now on Saturday collections, which could decide whether the film can recover over the weekend or continue struggling at the ticket counters.
