1. Taran Adarsh -

Rating Score -> 4/5

Drama. Thrills. Chills. Shock-value. All enveloped in a near-perfect, captivating plot… This is supernatural genre done right… Unpredictable twists and turns are a big plus… Watch it!

2. Times Now News -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5

Shaitaan is that old, tired God-over-evil adage that has been revamped and rehashed in Hindi cinema for ages. This time, like most other times, it just does not land on the Devil's den.

3. Times of India -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5

Even though Shaitaan’s narrative stumbles at times, the masterful use of atmosphere and top-notch acting elevate it into an unsettling experience worth having.

4. Zoom -

Rating Score -> 3/5

Shaitaan stands out as a riveting horror-thriller, headlined by stellar performances from Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika, and others. With its seamless blend of intense drama, supernatural elements, and occult intrigue, this film is sure to leave audiences spellbound till the very end.

5. Hindustan Times -

Rating Score -> n/a

It’s still a tricky period for the big-screen film, and what Shaitan seems to be hoping will work in its favour is shock value. If a raucous and mildly unsettling hostage drama with a more than mildly entertaining R Madhavan is enough for you, go watch it.

6. The Hindu -

Rating Score -> n/a

R Madhavan makes the mean monster shine opposite Ajay Devgn in this horror show. Backed by a poignant premise and powerful performances, director Vikas Bahl generates some genuine moments in eerie situations but surprisingly shows a straight bat in the slog overs

7. India Today -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5

The first half keeps you engaged as you sense the threat from this invader, who calls himself the ‘bhagwan’. However, Madhavan's portrayal of the 'shaitaan' in the second half veers into gimmicky territory to just *scare* people. His appearance, reminiscent of Amrish Puri from Naagin films, and the exaggerated ritual scene only add to the woes.

8. Indian Express -

Rating Score -> 2/5

Ajay Devgn steps into Drishyam mode in predictable horror-thriller. After whetting our appetites with a few well-staged command and control sequences, Ajay Devgn takes over. And how can a hero, even if he has allowed himself to be bashed up and bloodied till then, not win?

9. India TV -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5

Nail-biting thriller laced with Ajay Devgn's family love vs R Madhavan's menacing act. Shaitaan shows the love of a father for his children, who is ready to face every difficulty and challenge before it befalls his children. Scroll down to read the review of the film and also stellar performances portrayed by the cast.

10. First Post -

Rating Score -> 2/5

Shaitaan is that old, tired God-over-evil adage that has been revamped and rehashed in Hindi cinema for ages. This time, like most other times, it just does not land on the Devil's den.

11. Zee News -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5

Shaitaan blows right past the so-bad-it’s-good classification. It deserves appreciation. In simple terms, it is enjoyable, but its appeal is tailored to a particular style of entertainment that may require some adjustment for those unfamiliar with it.

12. Komal Nahta -

Rating Score -> n/a

Shaitaan is an ordinary fare which will do business better than its limited merits as it (business) will be more on the strength of its genre and star cast.

13. News 18 -

Rating Score -> 3/5

The film is gripping and chilling, but leaves logic behind. Is hypnotism so powerful and so manipulative? I really wonder.

14. NDTV -

Rating Score -> 1.5/5

Once all the cards are laid on the table, the film falls into a high-pitched yet insipid rigmarole that strives very hard to scare us stiff but succeeds only sporadically to achieve that goal. But despite not being wholly satisfying, the feeling that the film leaves one with is that it is doing enough to click with those that dig twilight zone thrillers of this variety and are not given to asking questions.

15. Rediff -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5

Some of the best horror films disguise an allegory for social critique, but Shaitaan brushes off any such potential in the favour of a good scare. Except the exercise comes off as more cruel than creepy when things get diabolically out of hand.
