#Jawan: MEGA-BLOCKBUSTER. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ A hardcore masala entertainer that’s sure to stand tall in #SRK’s filmography… #Atlee presents #SRK in a massy character and he is 🔥🔥🔥… Move over #Pathaan, #Jawan is here to conquer hearts and #BO, both. #JawanReview

Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee's Actioner Is Homage To 90s Bollywood With South Tadka. Atlee's Hindi directorial debut Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role alongside South superstar Vijay Sethupathi and Lady superstar Nayanthara is a slick action extravaganza reminiscent of the glorious days of action adventure from the nineties.

Jawan is a wholesome watch that won't give you any dull moment. Keep your eyes and mind focused on screen for there's a lot to take in and you don't want to miss the action or know why it's happening in the first place. Watch out for a climax that's one paisa vasool moment.

5. India Herald -

Rating Score -> 4/5
Jawan is a must-watch action thriller with an intriguing idea, thrilling pacing, and a star-studded ensemble. This movie is remarkable because of Shah Rukh Khan's dual part, Nayanthara's mesmerizing performance, and Vijay Sethupathi's threatening presence. There is never a dull moment because of Atlee's directing and G.K. Vishnu's photography, which raise the overall caliber of the film. The experience of watching Jawan on a large screen is amazing.

Strikingly Meta Vehicle Taps The Magnetism Of Shah Rukh Khan. In the final act, SRK and Vijay Sethupathi (who is as brilliant as ever) square off in a scene that caps a magnificent crowd-pleaser that blends some sharp writing and a high level of technical finesse.

7. Indian Express -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Shah Rukh Khan delivers a massy entertainer with strong political messaging. After a kinetic and zingy first hour, Shah Rukh Khan's film slumps in bits, especially when it dives into the part housed in a women’s prison. But as a whole, the movie is a an unabashed massy entertainer with strong political messaging, making it a film which is very much of the moment.

8. India Today -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Jawan is a big screen spectacle. It is flawed but at a time where everything is over-analysed, it makes for a good time at the cinemas. Ready or not, this is a ride that’s definitely worth taking.

9. Times of India -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Jawan feeds off SRK’s stardom. It isn’t intimidated by him.Like a paisa vasool desi thaali, it has all kinds of flavour to satiate your taste buds. The reincarnation of 'action hero SRK' hits the sweet spot.

10. Rediff -

Rating Score -> 4.5/5
Jawan is a mix and match of several south movies, Hindi movies and even Spanish TV, including Money Heist, Valimai, Master, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Jailer, Dhartiputra, even Shahenshah, and then the spirit of Shankar movies come together to make this mass masala film, South ishtyle! It’s clear that Shah Rukh Khan has completely surrendered himself to the vision that Director Atlee carried.

11. Gulf News -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
While the film would have benefitted from trimming a few songs and action sequences, Khan is in command all the way in 'Jawan'. If you are willing to surrender to his movie-star magic, then you are likely to enjoy this vociferous vigilante fare a lot more.

12. DNA -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Jawan is far from a perfect film. But it is an entertaining one, a film that uses the star’s aura and screen presence to full effect. South has done it with Vijay, Ajith, Chiranjeevi (and of late Allu Arjun and Yash too), and it took a south filmmaker to do it equally effectively up north with a Bollywood actor. Jawan reminded me of two films – Indian and Nayak, which is funny because Atlee is as different from Shankar in filmmaking as one can be. But it can safely be said that Jawan is Atlee’s attempt at the Shankar brand of cinema.

13. The Hindu -

Shah Rukh Khan is spectacular in Atlee’s socially-charged thriller. Shah Rukh Khan launches his own ‘Clean India Campaign’ in this elaborate but persuasive action film from director Atlee

14. Komal Nahta -

Rating Score -> n/a
Jawan is a blockbuster of epic proportions. It will prove to be one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema ever. It shouldn’t be a surprise even if it turns out to be THE BIGGEST Hindi blockbuster ever. The film has tremendous repeat value.

15. Mid-day -

Rating Score -> 4/5
Jawan is a rare, mad-actioner, with that many females in the fighting force. Usually, action is perceived as an all-male genre, both from the audience’s POV, and those inhabiting it.

16. The Week -

Rating Score -> 4/5
Three and a half hours of ‘Jawan’ offers full entertainment and more. There are takeaway lessons, advice, emotions, humour, dance and loads of drama. Beyond that, there's loads and loads of Shah Rukh Khan, two of them actually; yet, not an overdose. Jawan is the kind of film you watch and forget about where you are and what time it is. This is the kind of movie that offers escapism at its best.
