Gadar 2 has etched its name in history by surpassing the 3 crore footfall milestone in India. This figure has always been a significant benchmark since the inception of the Hindi film industry, often signifying a film's blockbuster status. Nonetheless, certain exceptional circumstances and reasons have prevented a few films from attaining blockbuster status despite achieving over 3 crore footfalls.
Now, turning our attention to Gadar 2, the film has crossed the 510 crore mark in net box office collections in India, accompanied by an impressive 3.4 crore footfalls. This achievement marks a major milestone, as it represents the highest post-pandemic performance for any Bollywood or Hindi film. Prior to this, Pathaan had also breached the coveted 3 crore footfall mark, approximately reaching 3.1 crores. Notably, no other Bollywood or Hindi dubbed film has managed to accomplish this feat.
In the pre-pandemic era, the last Hindi film to touch the magical 3 crore footfall mark was Tiger Zinda Hai. With three significant releases in Jawan (already in theaters), Tiger 3, and Dunki, there is a strong possibility that Bollywood may witness a total of five films surpassing the 3 crore footfall mark in 2023. Should this occur, it would set a remarkable record, as it has not been achieved in the past two decades.
