Overall Word of Mouth (Critics) - Positive!

1. India Today -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Dobaaraa is a well-thought-out story that has many layers. It is the kind of film that will have the audience putting together a jigsaw puzzle as they leave the theatres. And when they’ve done so, they’ll realise that Dobaaraa is just another level. Bollywood's tryst with time travel and the parallel universe has been successful with this film.

2. India -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
To simply put it, Dobaaraa is good but not good enough for theatres and certainly not the best from Kashyap’s resume of work.

3. Indian Express -

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
This Taapsee Pannu-starrer never feels like an Anurag Kashyap film. It comes off too choppy and muddled. It’s hard to keep track of the many things happening in the time zones the movie slips in and out of.

4. News 18 -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Dobaaraa is a mad and whacky tale. It has the good ingredients of Looop Lapeta, and is edge-of-the seat as a thriller. The film keeps you hooked, and thoroughly engaged, even with the constant back and forth in time. This one is a good watch in theatres, so do not miss out on it!

5. Hindustan Times -

Rating Score -> n/a
Dobaaraa has a lot that's unsaid and needs to be understood and that's where the complicated and complex plot works. Even if it's a scene-by-scene adaptation of a Spanish film, it has its own hold on the story and makes for an entertaining watch.

6. Times of India -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Dobaaraa is an engaging thriller which is worth your time but do ensure that you don’t spend too much time munching the popcorn, lest you miss the beat. This one needs all your attention, so go dive in!

7. The Hindu -

Rating Score -> n/a
In the film, a voice on the radio repeatedly says that geomagnetic storms raise the adrenaline level in humans. Dobaaraa is once such adrenaline-pumping storm.

8. NDTV -

Rating Score -> 3/5
What is especially striking about Dobaaraa is that it makes no major concessions to the audience by resorting to overt explication of the phenomenon that triggers the female protagonist's predicament although, admittedly, parts of the film are rather easy to decipher.

9. DNA -

Rating Score -> 5/5
Seeing is believing, because you wouldn’t actually believe me otherwise. It’s another trendsetting slash cult film by Anurag Kashyap. If it doesn’t get its due now, it will surely after some years. Don’t just keep shouting Hindi cinema still stuck in the ‘80s but help promote the ‘different’ stuff when it’s actually served with a lot of heart and bravado. Easily the best film I have seen this year, all language included.

  1. Ek gadha director aur ek maha gadhi actor.

  2. AK is lucky to have producers who are still willing to bank on his projects. Even after series of flops. He is still being backed
