Jersey has taken a slow start on Sunday (3rd day) morning shows as early samples are coming in. This is not good news as most of the films start well on Sundays. Here it is not the case and it means ground-level reports are mixed.
Jersey has opened to just 20-25% occupancy in the morning shows today. Today is the first Sunday. A 30-40% opening would have been nice. Again film has taken much below the mark opening. When samples are compared with Saturday then a jump of 30-35% is seen. The jump is significant but as Saturday collections were poor, growth should have been much better.
Jersey's first weekend collection is now heading towards 15.5-16 crore nett approx. Ideally, first weekend collection should have been 30-35 crore nett mark. Trade was expecting Jersey to collect a minimum of 75 crore nett (if not more) in its theatrical run prior to its release. But it looks like the film will fail to touch 50 crore nett in India. If film registers a big fall on Monday then even a 30-40 crore nett mark looks tough. Business of Jersey is absolutely shocking, to say the least.
