The picturisation of some of the songs reminds you of the good ol’e music videos made several years ago. The VFX deserves an applause, and adds to the visual quality of the film. But all of this barely salvages this love story whose destiny could have really been something else.

On the whole, Radhe Shyam is a poor show which will prove to be a heavily losing film in spite of its beautiful canvas. Its unduly high cost will only add to the tale of woes of the persons associated with the film. Business of the Telugu version, however, will be far better.

#OneWordReview...
#RadheShyam *#Hindi*: DISAPPOINTING.
Rating: ⭐️⭐
Interesting ideas don’t necessarily translate into interesting films… #RadheShyam has it all, but it misfires in one major department: Poor writing… Doesn’t meet the humongous expectations. #RadheShyamReview

Rating Score -> 2/5
Radhe Shyam is an ill-formed love story that is hard to fall in love with. If the devil is in the details, he is everywhere in this film, which seems to be out to prove that the line between blockbuster and lacklustre is precariously thin.

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
Radhe Shyam is for you if you just want to sit back, look at two good looking people, and some beautiful locations without giving much thought about plot or the absence of it!

6. Deccan Herald -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Radhe Shyam falters a bit after the intermission as certain portions of the second half drag and feels stretched, slowing down the film. As result, the whole track involving an attempt to change destiny does fall flat.

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
Radhe Shyam is visually stunning. The song sequences are shot beautifully, but that's about it. There is nothing about this film or the characters that I'd remember.

8. DNA -

Rating Score -> 3/5
'Radhe Shyam' lacks emotional depth, and the story is scabrous. The attempt may have been to explore a novel idea of doing away with the cliched concept of a 'hero' fighting a 'villain' to win over his ladylove in a romantic drama and to showcase a 'war' between love and destiny with Prabhas essaying the role of a palmist for the first time ever, but the film falls short on many counts including the script and isn't compelling enough to make you want to sit through till the end.

9. Deccan Chronicle -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Prabhas is sincere in his approach. However, at times, during close shots, he looks tedious. His character doesn’t have defining moments typical of a protagonist. Pooja Hegde as Prerna is adequate; in fact, her character has better depth than Prabhas’. However, their chemistry is flat and the romance lacks spark.

Radhe Shyam could have been *THE* epic story that we were promised. But, with many shortcomings, it turned out to be a soul-less love story.

The parallels with Mani Ratnam’s Geethanjali are also tough to shake off. The journeys of the two lovers against what destiny has in store for them can be viewed as a hat tip to that iconic romance. While Geethanjali also rode on a premise that required suspension of disbelief, it was all heart and made us root for the protagonists. Radhe Shyam could have benefited with some of that soul in its writing.

Why did Prabhas agree to do this bizarre rigmarole? Who knows? Prabhas-starrer expects us to swallow, hook, line and so many sinkers, and we are constantly collecting our jaws off the floor.
