83 10th Day (2nd Sunday) Collection Early Trends, Good Day Again

83 is heading towards a good 2nd Sunday (10th day) at the box office as early trends for the day are coming in. Film is in fact competing with the 2nd Saturday box office number and even better at places. That is great considering 2nd Saturday was New Year's Day.

83 opened to 28-30% occupancy in the morning shows of day 10. The film showed good jump in noon shows and registered 50% occupancy. As per the latest, the film has held pretty well from evening onward and currently reporting a good 40-45% occupancy.

When samples of 2nd Sunday are compared to 2nd Saturday then occupancy is nearly the same. In some, it is higher and in others, it is lower. 83 has recovered some ground on 2nd Saturday and it will recover further ground on 2nd Sunday now.

The early trend suggests 83 Tenth Day Collection is heading towards a 7-8 (+/-) crore net range. These are early estimates and the final count for the day may vary. 83 total collection at the end of the second weekend is heading towards 90-91 (+/-) crore net range.

83 has under-performed big time in the first week. Hence, it is all about recovering ground in the second week. The second-weekend box office performance of 83 can be said as good. But again it is simply not enough as the film is riding on a huge budget. Hence, ideally, 83 needed an extraordinary second week or even third week to reach the safety zone.

Good performance in the 2nd weekend has ensured that film will enter 100 crore net club. If cinema halls remain open then the film can collect a few more depending on the box office performance of the third week and beyond.

Honestly trending of 83 is not at all bad. If we consider it as a Ranveer Singh starrer film collections are pretty good. In fact, it looks even better when we take into account that the film is released post-pandemic. Plus cinema halls are closed in Delhi and some other places. Plus occupancy is capped in various places at 50%.

The problem arises when we see the budget of the film. The budget is so high that film needs 160-170 crore net to emerge as an average. 83 movie lifetime collection will remain much below that par score now unless film shows miraculous trending in second weekdays, third week, and beyond.
