Sooryavanshi First Day (Friday) Collection Update for Morning Shows, Flying Start

Sooryavanshi has taken a flying start at the ticket counters in the early morning and mornings shows of Friday (1st day). It is easily the biggest Bollywood opener post-pandemic and is all set for a good first day total now. In various parts of India, 100% occupancy is allowed and that is also helping the film cause. Very important Maharastra belt is allowing 50% occupancy and we hope that here also 100% occupancy be allowed soon in the coming days.

Sooryavanshi has opened to 25-30% occupancy in the morning shows today. Samples are very limited at this moment. Opening in B and C centers are better than metros and A-list cities. Pre-pandemic such opening would have been said that decent only. But circumstances are different now and any kind of decent opening is good.

As today is the Diwali holiday, Sooryavanshi should see a big increase in occupancy in the latter half of the day. We expect the best occupancy in noon and afternoon time. There may be some drop in night shows but even in those shows occupancy should be in the upper level. Sooryavanshi has been released in a whopping 4200 screens in India and 1300 screens in the overseas market. All in all, the film is released in 5500 screens worldwide.

Trade expects Sooryavanshi to do business in excess of 20 crore net for day one. That will be a very good start considering all present scenarios. Anything above that will be the icing on the cake. The good part is theaters going audiences have hardly come to theaters for the last 1 and 8 months. Hope, Sooryavanshi forces them to come to the theaters nearby and watch the film on the big screen. If that happens it will be a big win for the film.
