Bell Bottom First Day Collection Update - Morning Shows

Bell Bottom has emerged as a landmark film in Indian film history as it has become the first major film to release in theaters post covid pandemic. Hence, first of all, a lot of praise to Akshay Kumar and the makers of the film. Hence, whatever business film does in theaters it doesn't matter. What matters most is that Bell Bottom is the film that started all over again for the ailing exhibition sector in India.

Now coming to film opening. The good news is that film has opened decent across India in the morning shows of Thursday (Opening Day). The film is reporting 10% occupancy in whatever limited screens film is released. This is good considering there is still coronavirus scare in people's minds. In addition, only 50% max occupancy is allowed in theaters. The whole Maharastra is closed and it will have a major dent in the business. The Delhi-UP belt is slow to start off. Rajasthan has opened better at places.

Bell Bottom is released on 900-1000 screens in India. Which is a low screen count considering it is an Akshay Kumar starrer film and is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Critics have given a big thumbs up to the film. The actual word of mouth of the film will be known by the end of the day. If ground reports are good then the film should pick up well as the weekend approaches.

Predicting the lifetime business of the film is very difficult at this moment. But anything significant business at the Indian Box Office will be taken as a big plus for all. We only hope that cinema halls open in the rest of India also (including Maharastra). Govt should look into the matter on an urgent basis and bail out the exhibition sector which is in dire straits at this moment.
