Hollywood biggie Godzilla vs. Kong has taken a strong start at the Indian box office on the first day. Film released on Wednesday and performed well all across India. Business in south India is even better than in the northern belt.

Godzilla vs. Kong has collected an approx 6.4 crore net on opening day. This is the biggest opening for any Hollywood or Hindi film post-covid pandemic in India. South business is set to be more than 50%. This is mid-week and the weekend is still to come.

The strong start of Godzilla vs. Kong has again confirmed that the public is eager to watch movies in theatres despite the coronavirus pandemic on an all-time high in India. The only issue is they want good content to view on the big screen.

This is good news for all exhibition sectors that this Hollywood biggie has started well. But the bad news is that daily new cases of coronavirus are increasing and the situation is getting worse day by day. It might have a big dent in business in the coming days unless there is a dip in cases in the upcoming times ahead.
