Rating Score -> 3/5
‘Lootcase’ is an earnest effort with regards to two things: bring to light the travesty of greed, and life in general. But, with the writers, Kapil Sawant and Rajesh Krishnan, falling prey to the need to take the safe route and inculcate the tried-and-tested formulas of this genre, honestly, the film didn’t have much promise beyond a point.

Lootcase is almost unwatchable but for the actors it boasts of. They have a tonne of fun with the little they have been given by the unintelligent, unexciting script. We just wish director Krishnan has made better use of the treasure he landed on.

A suitcase full of loot, a regular joe on the loose, and a bunch of crafty hoods on the move: the elements that make up Lootcase are familiar ingredients in films which feature ill-gotten cash falling into the wrong hands causing murder and mayhem.

4. The Hindu -

Rating Score -> n/a
Originally shot for the big screen, the film has now found a direct-to-digital release. As per the original vision, Lootcase also has a couple of songs, which may not bode well for an OTT watch, especially considering the film is so loosely edited. With so many other options and the temptation of the remote, Lootcase should have been pruned and drastically shortened for a snappy digital experience. This version feels like lazy transplantation across mediums that is completely out of sync with the times.

5. Latestly -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
The lack of smartness in Lootcase loots the little potential of its engaging storyline and a wonderful cast that deserved a better script. At best, it comes across as a passable onetime watch. Lootcase is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

On the whole, Lootcase is a nice entertainer but it is more like a television serial than a film. Its dialogues, drama and performances are its high-points and make it good for home-viewing. Lack of awareness due to poor promotion will cost its business dear.
