Thappad had a decent hold on 1st Monday (4th day) at the box office. Drop from Friday is 25% which is actually good hold. However, Friday box office numbers are decent only and hence, Monday numbers should have been close to Friday.
Thappad has added 2.25 crore net approx on day 4. Film total thus stands at 16.9 crore net approx. The film's first-week business is now trending towards 22 crore net range. Numbers are decent but ideally, the film needed to touch or cross 25 crore net in India.
There is Baaghi 3 releasing in theaters this Friday and it will definitely have an impact on the progress of Thappad from the second week onward. 2nd Friday will determine whether the film has legs to touch or go beyond 30 crore net in India or not.
