Dabangg 3 is showing a reasonable hold on 1st Monday (4th day) at the box office as early trends for the day are coming in. The hold would have been good if Friday numbers are good. But film under-performed on Friday and hence, Monday needed more than just a reasonable hold. Anyways Christmas festive time is around the corner and we hope that film strikes big again on Tuesday night shows and Wednesday the whole day.
Dabangg 3 occupancy report for Monday is shown below. Friday occupancy report is given in bracket. The occupancy drop on Monday is 40% from Friday. Since ticket prices are lower today business drop will be more.

Morning - 15-20% (Fri - 25%)
Noon-Afternoon - 20-25% (Fri - 35%)
Evening-Night - 30-35% (Fri - 55-60%)

ReplyDelete11-12 Crores on the 4th day itself means that on Christmas day it won't be going over 20 Crores. 1st week is going over 19-20 Crores. Last year Zero also collected 9.5 Crores on its 1st monday & on Christmas day, it collected 13.5 Crores. On it 1st monday, Dabangg hasn't collected much better than Zero did last year. Going by this 1st Week isn't crossing 125 Crores which is less than Mission Mangal, a niche film released on mere 3000 screens compared to 5000 for D3. So, 1st monday has finally proved the real standing of this film which is the average response from the audience. Komal Nahta has today confirmed what most fans were fearing, that film hasn't been accepted by the audience (Obviously it hasn't been rejected as badly as Zero).
200 Crores to bhool jayo, even 150 Crores is beginning to look tough given that Good Newwz is releasing next week & most certainly it'll take away the bulk of the multiplex screens. And if Good Newwz finds traction with the audience then 2019 will end up similar to 2018 where Zero was a miserable disaster & Simmba went on to become a blockbuster.

ReplyDeleteIt is a decent movie. Not a blockbuster material but not bad either. It is better than Dabbang2, Race 3 , Bharat, Jai ho and Tubelight but that is about it. It has nothing new. However it is a decent one time watch and good for Salman fans.
The protests have hampered the Collections of the movie a bit but nothing can be done about it. But still I believe it will have sufficient legs to cross 200 cr at the box office. Ideally now 225 cr should be the target. However an outside chance it may finsih between 175- 200 cr.
It will definitely not lose money but not reaching 200 cr for a Dabbang franchise movie will be a shocker.
Now coming to Collections.
Movie is almost 94 cr in 4 days.
Xmas holiday, 2nd weekend and New year holiday are the 3 lifelines of the movie now and Xmas is the biggest.
If Xmas national holiday collection is between 25-30 cr then 1st week will be around 140 cr.
2nd weekend. Should ideally be around 30 cr and new year should again boost collections and 2nd week should be in 50 cr range.
Then week 3 and 4 will take it over the 200 cr mark.
But all the above is a positive scenario. If Xmas collevtions are around 20 cr. Then week 1 will be 130 cr and then 200 cr qill be a distant dream. It might then end around 180-190 cr mark.
But considering the content , I am extremely hopeful, it will be a 200 cr + grosser. Challenging 220 cr mark.
