Overall Word of Mouth (Critics) - Positive!
1. Times of India -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for detailsUnder the vision of creative director R Balki and an average execution by filmmaker Jagan Shakti, 'Mission Mangal' makes good with its emotional highs and drama. In the end, when you see India's scientists celebrate their hard-earned victory with the Mangalyaan orbiting Mars, you can't help but cheer for the triumph of a nation and its scientific success. Despite the ups and downs, this story does make you believe that dreams do come true, especially in the vast expanses of the outer space.

Rating Score -> 4/5
Click this link for detailsMission Mangal is a well-written film, brilliantly written in fact, for a movie based on real life incidents. There is not one cast member who does not contribute to the plot of the film. Every character has been given an equal screen space and well-deservedly. It makes you want to stand and applaud in the theatre towards the end.
3. Bollywood Bubble -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Click this link for detailsOne of the biggest achievements of ‘Mission Mangal’ is that it does justice to the extraordinary feat accomplished by ISRO scientists. It is not easy to make a science film and make it entertaining. In the last few years, we have rarely seen any Indian film do that. So Mr. Jagan Shakti, hats off to you.
4. Latestly -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for detailsMission Mangal doesn't have the layered texture of Hidden Figures nor the complexity of First Man. Instead, it relies on many of its heartwarming moments and an adorable cast to propel the film ahead, and ends up being an engaging watch. The movie may not land on Mars, but it does meet halfway when it comes to our expectations.
5. Glamsham -
Rating Score -> 4/5
Click this link for detailsSome movies make us believe in ourselves, some make us forget what we are while some take the leap to go to majestic extremes, MISSION MANGAL tries to do all these and achieves success. The climax will make you stand and salute these great Indians who made NASA eat its teeth in disbelieve and making India and Indians proud in universe. Akshay Kumar infectiously spearheads this rousingly magical salute to the mother, daughters and sisters of India on Independence Day. MISSION MANGAL is a must for every man, every woman, every Indian and every human.

Click this link for detailsOn the whole, Mission Mangal is mission accomplished — and accomplished beautifully! It is a surefire hit and this in spite of being a class-appealing film. It will join the Rs. 100-crore club in a matter of four or five days. It shouldn’t be a surprise if this film turns out to be Akshay Kumar’s highest-grossing solo starrer to-date. Yes, the film has the potential of crossing the Rs. 150-crore mark and even touching the 200-crore mark.
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Click this link for detailsReleasing on the day ISRO completes a half-century, Mission Mangal seems a timely tribute to the unsung heroes who don’t wear a cape. But for a film that documents a singularly inspiring story, the writing doesn’t manage to conjure the thrill surrounding this epic achievement.

Click this link for detailsWhen the Mangalyaan had successfully reached Mars, the world was stunned. American publications made racist cartoons about how this third-world nation was knocking on the doors of their exclusive cigars-and-planets club. We were incensed, and rightly so. Now in Mission Mangal — starring Akshay Kumar (one of our least hidden figures) and a shiny tinfoil version of ISRO that often looks like a lavish backdrop to a Rajinikanth song — we also applaud a Prime Minister who had very little to do with supporting the original mission. The message is clear: We can create our own cartoons, thank you very much. Make in India.
9. India Today -
Rating Score -> 3.5/5
Click this link for detailsDespite its flaws of excessive sermons and some crucial characters like Taapsee and Kirti not fleshed out completely, Mission Mangal makes for an entertaining Independence Day watch. The flight might face some turbulence but it lands well.
10. Indian Express -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Click this link for detailsIt leaves a smile on the face. And you do feel a swell of pride as the ‘yaan’ comes into view and settles successfully in orbit. Despite the over-arching presence of the latter-day Mr India, ‘sab mangal hai’.

Click this link for details#MissionMangal: BRILLIANT. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clearly, one of the best films of 2019... Each character shines... High-concept film that keeps you hooked all through... Has potential to emerge Akshay Kumar's highest grosser... Winner! #MissionMangalReview
12. The Quint -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for detailsStill, for everything that Mission Mangal gets right, particularly the performances and the emotional quotient as the pictures of the real scientists who have helped make India a power to reckon with in space technology flash on the screen, the film deserves to be seen.
13. Mid-Day -
Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Click this link for detailsThe cast overall remains a big draw in a film that somehow becomes mediocre somewhere down its runtime, despite its subject. "Mission Mangal" ends up an ordinary film about an extraordinary feat.
14. Deccan Chronicle -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for detailsTo conclude, 'Mission Mangal' is well worth your time. It is educational, but entertaining. Positive without preachy. And family friendly in a genuine way.
15. Khaleej Times -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for detailsOn the occasion of India's Independence Day today, we suggest you give Mission Mangal a chance - it will give you a serious case of national pride, even if Akshay Kumar and his team give it a typical Bollywood treatment.
16. Gulf News -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for details‘Mission Mangal’ is an out-of-this-world cinematic experience, but there’s a good chance that you will pivot around the women’s skills in this film.
17. News Nation -
Rating Score -> 4/5
Click this link for detailsOn this occasion of August 15, you can enjoy the movie Mission Mangal and also feel the pain and the determination of our scientist to make such a distant dream a reality.
18. Business Today -
Rating Score -> 3/5
Click this link for detailsMission Mangal's last fifteen minutes where our beloved VFX-satellite is en route to Mars has more drama than Kumar's multiple impassioned speeches. Mission Mangal is not a perfect film -- in fact, it has multiple flaws. Nevertheless, it is an enjoyable ride to Mars.
19. The Week -

Click this link for detailsFor a film on a scientific expedition, Mission Mangal has everything else in abundance―dance, drama and music included, but little of science that invigorates.
