Batla House has held well on 2nd Day (Friday) at the box office and thus have put up a respectable total for the day. Drop from the first day is 45% which is acceptable considering the film is coming off from a National Holiday.
Batla House has collected 8.85 crore nett approx on day 2. Film total now stands at 24.35 crore nett approx. Film extended first weekend is heading towards 45+ crore nett considering film shows decent to good growth on Saturday and Sunday.
Batla House has a good chance of emerging as a HIT at the box office. For that film needs a decent hold at least. A strong hold means the film will not only emerge as a HIT but also challenge for Super HIT status. But again it is still early days to evaluate the lifetime business. Before that, we need to concentrate on the upcoming weekend and let's hope film registers good jump on Saturday and Sunday.

Looks like Batla House team has got hold of Red Chilies Calculator. There is over 12% difference between trade figures (reported by BOI) & Producers figures. Obviously John is under tremendous pressure here. His nascent patriotism foray is under threat already. Clearly he is no match for Akshay (as evident by the difference between the figures of Mission Mangal & Batla House) but now, even Hrithik has ventured into Patriotism territory with Super 30. It won't be long before he too starts to release his movies on Independence day. Since Akshay Kumar is now synonymous with Independence day release, it would be near impossible to push him out of the slot. However, John would be easier target. Hence all these manipulations to somehow remain competitive. In real terms Batla House isn't going past 75-77 Cr but, BH Team will try to make it touch 100 crores simply for symbolic reasons.
