Batla House First Weekend Box Office Collection Report, It's Good!

Batla House had a good extended first weekend at the box office. Film has done pretty well and trending is also on the positive side. Half the battle is already won and now all depends on the hold on 1st Monday. Hope film lands strongly on Monday and carry forward the good work in the coming days.

Batla House has collected 12.7 crore nett approx on day 4. Film total collection thus stands at 47.95 crore nett approx. Film will touch 50 crore nett on Monday. The film is on track to emerge as a HIT but again all depends on day 4. Even a decent hold will ensure that verdict.

Batla House lifetime collection is difficult to predict at this moment. By the end of Monday, we will have some idea. Film is trending well in the weekend and reports are on the positive side. That suggests film should sustain well in weekdays also.

Collection Breakup -

Thursday - 15.5 crore nett

Friday - 8.85 crore nett

Saturday - 10.9 crore nett

Sunday - 12.7 crore nett

Total - 47.95 crore nett approx

  1. A movie like Mission Mangal which is nearing 100 Crores has less than 2% variance between producer's figures & Trade figures. Whereas, Batla House at 40 Crores has nearly 12% variance. John's desperation is understandable. He probably expected last year's Gold vs SMJ type of contest with a hyped up clash & some inflated business coming his way. A 105 Crore Gold vs 80 Cr SMJ clearly suited John where he could claim to have run a mighty Akshay Kumar close & that too on Independence Day. Instead Mission Mangal has left Batla House way behind. A 200 Cr Mission Mangal vs 80 Cr Batla House is clearly a loss of face for John even if BH gets declared a hit. The optics of the clash is clearly lost. Even a hit Batla House at 80 Crore will be considered an under performer against a 185/200 Crore blockbuster Mission Mangal. Business of cinema is clearly based on perception. If you lose a clash, soon some other challenger will step in. Hrihik has already announced his arrival in the patriotic genre with Super 30. Having tasted success, I am sure he would be looking to do more such movies & looking for the best release dates for his movies. Independence day would be obvious choice. Plus his stardom matches Akshay Kumar's & that would entice the distributor's more. Clearly one to lose out would be John.
