Rating Score -> 4/5
Entertains big time... Smart writing, plenty of laugh aloud moments, strong emotions, top notch acts [Ajay, Tabu, Rakul Preet]... Director Akiv Ali gives a refreshing twist to relationships. Watch it! #DDPD #DDPDReview

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
The one good thing about De De Pyaar De (DDPD) is that it isn’t slapstick. It’s different yet funny. It attempts to tell a love story between a woman and a man double her age in a modern and realistic way. Of course, it needed more finesse.

3. Bollywood Bubble -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
To be honest, the trailer of ‘De De Pyaar De’ hadn’t impressed me much and the first half of the film only strengthened that belief. However, the film picked up pace in the second half and the last half an hour was a fine family drama that ticked all the right boxes.

4. Khaleej Times -

Rating Score -> 2/5
Straying away from his films reeking of misogyny in the past, 'De De Pyaar De' might be the weakest story Luv Ranjan has brought to us in recent times. The lack of a storyline is hardly compensated by the presence of the stars he managed to get on board. With a sprinkling of humourous moments, 'De De Pyaar De' is a messy family drama you may watch or choose to skip.

5. Times of India -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
The film maturely handles a few touchy topics like divorce, live-ins and age-inappropriate romance, without getting too overbearing. Thankfully, director Akiv Ali wraps it up with a slightly unpredictable climax minus the melodrama. Overall, DDPD is a fun ride that reinstates the fact that when it comes to love, age is just a number.

6. CineBlitz -

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
If you have loved Luv Ranjan’s previous comedies, this one won’t disappoint. In fact, it carries his unmistakable stamp even if directed by Akiv Ali. Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu’s romcom is sweet, spicy and hilarious. A fun entertainer, this one is total paisa vasool and the situational comedy will leave you in splits. The film certainly makes for a fun watch!

7. Deccan Chronicle -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
There's something enjoyable about silly romantic comedies that center on middle-aged people for a change. Debutant director Akiv Ali's 'De De Pyaar De' (DDPD) features Ajay Devgn and Tabu in their age-appropriate roles as they deal with a mid-life crisis. The story, while seeming fresh and exciting on paper, has devolved into a half baked idea. The film is written by Luv Ranjan, whose bubbly rom-coms have set a dubious but successful standard in lightweight entertainment (Pyaar Ka Punchnama series, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety) about men getting into the kind of trouble most men can only dream about.
8. Mumbai Mirror -

Rating Score -> 3/5
The film’s deceptive title may throw many off. But the message that De De Pyaar De packs is loud and clear — love cannot be sought by courtship alone, accepting and adapting play an intrinsic role too.

9. ABP -

Rating Score -> 3/5
De De Pyaar De' is a light-hearted rom-com that addresses the real and plausible, issue of an older man falling in love with a girl half his age and how it is viewed upon, by the Indian society.

10. Zoom TV -

Rating Score -> 3/5
Overall, De De Pyaar De is filled with many laugh out loud moments. The movie is uneven but fun, messy but entertaining thanks to the dialogues, Akiv Ali's direction and the talented cast of Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh. Watch it.

11. Latestly -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
De De Pyaar De is not just about age-inappropriate romance, but also delves into adult relationships that most other Bollywood movies don't discuss. Tabu is terrific, and the final act is really good. But the writing, more than often, lets the film down and at times it's stretched and misogynistic too (even if it claims to be otherwise). In trying to look both mature and gallery-pleasing funny, De De Pyaar De ends up impressing you only in parts.

12. Mid-day -

Rating Score -> 1.5/5
'What if a 50-year-old man, having consensually separated from his wife, briefly returns home, among his kids, and father and mother, etc?' Frankly, didn't know that's how this 'old man and the khichdi' was meant to flow. Well, now you do. Even if I did: 'What if I didn't care?' Certainly didn't.

13. Komal Nahta -

Rating Score -> N/A
On the whole, De De Pyaar De will get abundant love from the audience and will prove to be a box-office winner. It may meet with a mixed response in the initial couple of days but it will finally be remembered as a wholesome entertainer praised for its difficult subject, praiseworthy scripting, mature handling and mind-blowing acting. It shouldn’t be a surprise if the film’s remaking rights for different languages are in demand soon.

14. Indian Express -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
De De Pyaar De is a mixed bag. Starting off as a breezy older man-younger woman sex comedy, tipping over into an emotional family drama, and trying to sustain a progressive stance while keeping up the randy quotient: it’s both hit and miss.

15. Raja Sen / Hindustan Times -

Rating Score -> 2.5/5
Ajay Devgn has no spine in De De Pyaar De. As a 50-year-old intensely aware of his age, the usually alpha actor plays uncharacteristically calm, handing over his valuables to muggers and unable even to push an old Ambassador without strong women helping him out. Only women, in fact, wear the pants in this film, particularly around Devgn’s Ashish: His estranged wife Manju intimidates him nearly two decades after their separation, and a young woman named Aisha drains his whiskey and leaves him standing around clueless, rattling his ice-cubes.

Rating Score -> 3.5/5
'De De Pyaar De' is a complete package of entertainment with witty dialogues and spectacular screenplay. While the first half of the film is all fun and romance, the second part digs down deep into human-sentiments. It has a perfect balance of humor and emotions. While Ashish's plight will make you laugh, his feelings will make you stop and think. Unlike many Bollywood ventures, songs of the film are placed in the appropriate places and the actors, each one of them, did a brilliant job.
