Vicky Kaushal to play freedom fighter 'Udham Singh' in Shoojit Sircar's next

Vicky Kaushal is becoming the next big star of Bollywood today. With his last film Uri: The Surgical Strike that has smashed records at the Box Office, he has bagged another film with Shoojit Sircar for Udham Singh. This is the story of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh and is set in the pre-independence era. Udham Singh was a revolutionary who assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, the British officer who was responsible for Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Reports tell us that Shoojit is impressed with Vicky’s performances and his brave choices. He is happy to cast him in his film and he perfectly fits in. This is because Vicky is a Punjabi boy and the story happens to revolve around a Punjabi freedom fighter and so it’s a perfect match.

On the other hand, Vicky is equally excited to work with Shoojit. He feels grateful and honored for this opportunity and has been a big admirer of the film maker. He expresses that it’s a "dream come true" and “something that will take time to sink in”.

The film will be produced by Ronnie Lahiri. The film is set take off by April and aiming for a release in 2020.
