URI - The Surgical Strike shows Fabulous hold on 3rd Friday (Day 15), Chasing 200 now!

URI -The Surgical Strike has shown fabulous hold on 3rd Friday (15th day) at box office despite facing big opposition in Manikarnika and Thackeray. A lifetime mark of 175 crore is now taken and film may even challenge 200 crore mark in India.

URI has collected an approx 4.4 crore nett on day 15. Drop from 2nd Thursday is just around 15%. This is extra-ordinary hold despite big reduction in screening. Film total collection currently stands at approx 138.15 crore nett.

Now film will enjoy Republic day holiday weekend and should touch 150 crore nett inside 3rd weekend. There may be big jump on Saturday which may be in the region of nearly 100% and that because of National Holiday. Film should collect in excess of 20 crore nett for the weekend now.

Collection Breakup -

Week 1 -> 71.2 crore nett

Week 2 -> 62.55 crore nett

Week 3 -

Fri -> 4.4 crore nett

Total -> 138.15 crore nett approx

Verdict -> Blockbuster

  1. Wow if URI touches 200 crores than one thing is for sure box office has grown leaps and bounds and appetite is there it’s just that indian customers want quality stuff

    Anything crap is rejected and hence no excuses ... a non holiday release crossing 200 crores with such less budget is unheard of ... with thrice the budget zero did less than half

    I really feel time has come for young actors to command best release dates

    Look at all the money churning films
    URI
    Stree
    Raazi
    Badhai Ho
    Andhandhun
    Baaghi 2
    Sanju
    Siimba
    Padmavaat

    None have stars of 90s in it

    Pretty much last 15 months Bollywood has been driven by younger generation

    Best is with them you can actually make more profits as they are ready to do medium budget and don’t charge so much

    From ROI perspective they get you lot more
