Shahid Kapoor to star in a 'Biopic' with ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’s director Shree Narayan Singh Next

While, Shahid Kapoor and Shree Narayan Singh is all ready  for “ Batti Gul Meter Chalu”, a film based on electricity theft in rural areas of our country, both are also  geared up for a biopic on Dr Verghese Kurien, known as Father of the White Revolution in India and the ‘ Man behind Amul’.

The film is based on Dr. Kurien’s autobiography, “I Too Had A Dream” that narrates about his contributions towards building up India’s milk industry.

The film will be set in the country’s independence year of 1947.  “Even though the material is in hand but the big challenge lies in taking it to the big screen in a way that audience will love the journey and feel inspired as well,” says the director who is also behind “Toilet: Ek Prem Katha”.

The filmmaker says that this will be Shahid, not dealing with any social issues and would be a completely different space that the audiences will see the actor work on. It was reported that the director narrated the script to Shahid on the sets of “Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ and agreed to be a part of it. Director will be collaborating with Ekta Kapoor for the film.
