Jahnvi Kapoor to feature in a biopic of a Kargil War Hero.

After Jahnvi Kapoor's big debut in Dhadak, and signing to Bollywood action-drama called ‘Takht’ that stars big names like  Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, she has bagged another one of his films that is based on a biopic of an IAF officer, named Gunjan Saxena.

The film is set on the 90’s backdrop of the Kargil War. This is the first time Jahnvi is cast for a female centric role on the biopic of India’s war hero.

Gunjan Saxema was among the first batch of 25 women to be selected as IAF (Indian Air Force) trainee officers in the year 1995.

During the Kargil War in 1999, Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena along with another Flight Lieutenant Srividya was in charge of medical evacuations, supplying drops and examining the Pakistani war positions in their small Cheetah flights. It seems that both the women were unarmed and defenseless and remained prone to get attacked. They had to move in and out of the war zones in a frequently. But despite all the danger, both the flight lieutenants were able to do carry out their duties with full confidence.

There is news that Jahnvi has already met Gunjan Saxena to know more about her life story. Talks are going on for the project. We do hope that there is some kind of official announcement soon.

As far as shooting details of the film. It is speculated that it might start next year. Film will be produced by Karan Johar. It cannot be confirmed as it is yet to be decided whether it will take place after or before ‘Takth,’ which is scheduled to be released in 2020.
