Baadshaho Quick Movie Review

Baadshaho is the big release this week starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta. Let's do a quick movie review of the film.

Movie Plot - It was 1975. A time when they say India fought for its second independence. It was a time of turmoil, a time where destinies could be made or destroyed, and fortunes stolen or lost. A time when power was absolute. In a time like that, the quasi government went after royal families all over the country especially in Rajasthan, claiming that they had not declared their wealth in 1971 when the privy purses were abolished. It claimed that several crores worth of antiques, gold, jewellery and treasures were concealed by the royals. Most of these raids were conducted in Rajasthan, and Baadshaho is the story of one such raid.
Film first half is very good. Lots of fun filled moment. Introduction of characters specially Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, even Sanjay Mishra are kept nice. 'Mere Rashke Qamar' song is Chartbuster. Till interval point movie holds up very well.

Post interval, film dips. Second half is bit stretched. Still it is decent, although editing part could have been better. Screenplay could have been better. Film had a abrupt end and there will be mixed reaction from the audiences for the climax part. Also, film overall screenplay could have been better.

Performances - Ajay Devgn is the star of the film. His introduction in the film will create riot in single screens for sure. He commands the character Bhawani Singh to the core. Ileana D'Cruz is a real revelation in the character Maharani 'Gitanjali'. She pleasantly gives a power packed performance and surprises one and all. Emraan Hashmi gives a delightful performance as 'Daliya'. He looks naughty and rugged in each frame. Esha Gupta looks Hot in the film. Delivers a honest performance. Sanjay Mishra gives a first rated performance as usual. Vidyut Jammwal as 'Seher' does a first rated job.

Verdict - Baadshaho film is mainly made for Single Screen audiences. Film might remain weak in multiplexes, but should do good business in SS atleast for first week. Will that be enough. We are not sure of that right now. Film lifetime collection should be in the region of 80-90 crore nett which may sneak it into HIT zone.

Ratings - 2.5/5.
