Salman Khan returns 32.5 crore to Tubelight Distributors.

We know now that Tubelight is one of those rare films, in which makers have made huge profit on table, but distributors suffered big loses. Film did around 119.25 crore nett business in India with a distributor share of approx 67 crores. Film distribution rights for India are sold for approx 132 crores. Means film suffered a loss of approx 65 crores for the distributors.

NH studios have brought the rights of Tubelight. Some time back distributors team went to Salman Khan house and met Salim Khan and discussed the loses occurred from the film. At the end of the meeting, Salim Khan assured that they will refund 50% of the loses.

As Salman Khan was out of town because of Tiger Zinda Hai shooting. He just returned from the shooting and yesterday called the distributors for further talks. Salman assured them that he will return 50% of distributors loss that amounts to approx 32.5 crores (official update as on 12 August is 33.5 crores). Reimbursement of the loses starts from today onward.

This has brought big sigh of relief for NH Studioz. It is absolute good gesture by Salman Khan and his team for such decision. When films are falling left and right, such gesture keep the good faith among the makers and distributors.

So, what is the updated profit and loss account after the refund of 32.5 crores by Salman Khan. Check it below -

Updated Profit by Makers - 118 crore approx (Old Profit) - 32.5 crores = 85.5 crores of profit.
Updated Loss of Distributors - 32.5 crores - 65 crores (Old loses) = 32.5 crores of loss.
