Tubelight Economics - Profit and Loses for Makers and Distributors.

Tubelight is one of those rare films, in which producers have made huge profit, whereas distributors have made colossal loses. However, there is some good news and respite for all India distributors of the film.

Makers of Tubelight have decided that they will refund around 50% of the loses. This is a absolute nice gesture and credit should be given to Salman Khan and whole team. In today's time of corporate houses, they hardly refund a penny to distributors.

Now coming to Tubelight Economics

Budget - INR 115-120 crores approx (inclusive P&A).

Recovery for makers before the release of the film ->

1. Theatrical Rights - INR 132 crores.
2. Satellite Rights + Music Rights + Others - INR 80 crores approx.

Theatrical Recovery from India (Distributor share) - INR 63-65 crores (expected).
Theatrical Recovery from Overseas (Distributor share) - INR 22-24 crores (expected).

Total Recovery for Makers (Theatrical + Non-Theatrical) - INR 235 crores (approx).

Profit for Makers ->

Total Recovery for Makers - Budget = INR 115-120 crores of profit.

Loss for Distributors ->

Theatrical Recovery from India - Theatrical Rights of India = Loss of INR 67-69 crores.

Loss for Distributors after refund (refund of 50% of loses) is approx INR 33-34 crores.

Verdict of Tubelight - Below Average.

  1. Jis movie me distributers ko 70 cr ka lose hua h usko below average kaisse kah sakte h
    Movie ko flop kahne ki himmat kyo nhi h sir aapme
    It's not fair
    Itna bada blog chalate ho
    Honest verdict diya kro sir

    1. Below Average is also a part of FLOP category (All time Disaster, Disaster, Flop, Below Average). Simple difference is here someone somewhere have made reasonable profit. In case of Tubelight, makers have made huge proifts. So, it is not outright Flop. Benchmark should be same for all films. We simply can't set Distributor share yardstick different for different films. Thanks.
