As early samples are coming in, Tubelight has started slowly on Tuesday (fifth day) at box office in Morning shows. Film has opened to 20-21% occupancy in Morning shows in multiplexes across India. Single screens are not yet started.
When Morning samples of Today (Tuesday) is compared to yesterday (Monday), then there is a drop of about 15-20%. In normal case it would have been good hold. However, Tubelight is under performing and hence, ideally drop should have been minimal. From today onward ticket rates will also be less and means, business drop will be more than occupancy drop.
Tubelight needs to show good growth through the day to put up a decent total for the day. Film is now almost certain to be one of the lowest grosser Salman Khan film in recent times. It is all about the recovery now. Distributors have brought the film in high price and set to lose money. They will simply be hoping that film goes some distance from here on to minimise their loses. As far as makers are concerned, they have made huge profit even before the release of the film.
