Bajrangi Bhaijaan Movie Review

Bajrangi Bhaijaan arrives on EID and fireworks is expected from the film. Yes, it is a Salman Khan film. It is an event film. Yes it has stellar cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. Yes it introduces a little angel in Harshali Malhotra to Indian Film Industry. Yes, it is directed by one of the talented directors of today's time in Kabir Khan. Yes, expectation is humongous and whether it will stand on the colossal expectations or not. Let's start the movie review of Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Story: Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a story of little child 'Munni/Shahida' (Harshali Malhotra) who is from Pakistan and is lost in India. She meets 'Bajrangi/Pawan/Bhaijaan' (Salman Khan) in Kurukshetra. Bajrangi takes care of her and also brings her to his staying place which is Rashika's (Kareena Kapoor Khan) parental home. Rashika loves Bajrangi and plans to get settled with him soon. 'Munni' is mute and she can't tell her original place to Bajrangi. Finally when Bajrangi, Rashika and Rashika's parents came to know about the origin of Munni's home all hell broke loose. Rashika's father commands Bajrangi to handover Munni to Pakistan embassy in Delhi. However when Pakistan embassy doesn't accept Munni, then Bajrangi takes all responsibility himself to handover Munni to her parents in Pakistan. He travels through wrong way without any Visa and Passport to Pakistan in search of Munni's parents. Whether Bajrangi will able to fulfill his promise? Whether he will able to find Munni's parents in Pakistan? If he succeeds then how he will return to India? This is the rest story of the movie.

Film starts with bang with lot of stunning visuals. First half of the film is pure delight. It has many comic and fun filled moments. Second half again starts with bang. There are lot of emotional moments in the film specially in second half. There is no doubt many in theaters will come out with moist eyes by the end of the film. Climax scene is simply top notch and is the highlight of the film. There is literally no loo break in the film.
Performances: Bajrangi Bhaijaan is Salman Khan's best performance till date. Period. Yes, over the years/decade Salman has given many memorable performances. Still proudly say that it is best performance of his career. He marvels in comic part, but simply excels in emotional part and that also with elan. No doubt all his critics will love and adore him after Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Don't be surprised if he sweeps all awards this season. Harshali Malhotra as 'Munni' is the USP and Trump Card of the film. She is delight. Looks angelic. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is simply incomplete without her. If age is not a bar then she deserves all awards for the film. Her innocence, naughtiness will win you over. Yet she performs exceedingly well even in emotional scenes. Kareena Kapoor Khan as 'Rashika' again excels in her role. She is mainly in first half of the film. But yes, quality is more important than quantity. Kudos to her for yet again excellent performance. She excels in her part and her chemistry with Salman is simply mindboggling. Same way Nawazuddin Siddiqui is seen majorly in second half of the film as Pakistan Reporter. But again he excels with his superb performance. He is increasing his fan base in rapid pace and Bajrangi Bhaijaan will only multiply that for sure.
Kabir Khan as the director of the film is magical. He is simply magnificent. This is his best performance as director till date despite having a stellar list of earlier films in Kabul Express, New York and Ek Tha Tiger. No doubt Kabir Khan is one of those Kohinoors of Indian Film Industry in present time.

Verdict - Bajrangi Bhaijaan is not just a film. It is a story of human emotions. It is a story of humanity. It is a story of winning hearts by love over hatred. It is a story of two nations - India and Pakistan. Film is filled with emotional quotient, but is told in a simple way with loads of humour embedded in it. Overall, it is a must watch film for all from whichever religion he is, whichever country he is. Bajrangi Bhaijaan is a landmark film of Salman Khan career and it is a Classic!

Box Office - Film will open big despite Pre-Eid period because of Salman Khan star power. However film will just attack box office on Saturday and Sunday with Historic collections. And after that film strong content will take over and has got the inner feeling that by the end of its run, it will put some unbelievable numbers at box office. Sure Shot Jackpot in coming days.

Ratings - 4.5/5. Must Watch for all! Such films are not made in Bollywood nowadays.
