How much Tevar Needs to Recover at Box Office to be Hit. The Business Economics!

Tevar is the first major release of 2015. Film started slowly which is little bit down news for all. But if content is liked by audiences then it may see good jump through the weekend to put up decent numbers. However that not the only issue, Tevar is coming after a storm named PK and will need to wither that storm also in coming days, as it has not stopped yet.

So, what needs to be done by Tevar to be a Hit at box office. Simple recover all the investment and make some kind of profit.
Coming to Tevar film budget. Tevar is made on around 60 crore [landing cost] including P & A. Film has already recovered around 6 crore from music rights. Details of Satelite rights, home video and others are not known, but assume a bare minimum of another 15-20 crore nett from that. That means non-theatrical recovery by Tevar is around 20-25 crore already. Film needs a distributor share of 35-40 crore from India and Overseas to recover all its investment and anything above that will be in profits and film will be declared Hit then. If we assume a bare minimum of 5-7 crore distributor share is recovered from Overseas, then recovery from India should be another 30-33 crore. Means Tevar needs first to collect 60-65 crore nett in India and go over it to be a Hit at box office.

Tevar Budget - INR 60 crore.
Non-theatrical Recovery - INR 20-25 crore [Music, Satelite, Home video & others].
Need Theatrical Distributor share of 35-40 crore from Worldwide to recover the investment.
