Kick (2014) Movie Review. Too Much Fun!

Kick is official adaptation of Telugu movie 'Kick.' Film is releasing on EID Festival and stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. Film is directed and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. There is a humongous expectation from movie goers as film is carrying huge buzz. Plus film is coming on EID and everyone knows what a deadly combination EID and Salman is. So, without any further delay let's start the Movie Review of 'Kick.'

Story of Kick is.. Devi Lal Singh (Salman Khan) do things for his Kick (Adrenaline Rush) in his life. He meets Shaina (Jacqueline Fernandez) who is a Psychiatrist and falls in love with her. Shaina also after sometime completely falls over the heels with Devi. But suddenly Devi disappears from Shaina life and never returns back. Shaina marriage is then arranged to Himanshu Tyagi (Randeep Hooda) who is a Police Officer. Himanshu is on a mission to catch 'Devil' (Salman Khan) who is an intelligent thief, but fails till then. 'Devil' aim in life is to loot money from people who have lots of black money. So, will Himanshu be able to caught Devil? Will Shaina's love Devi will ever return? Who is Devil actually? For this one has to see 'Kick' movie.

Kick 1st half is good, but at places is stretched. Second half of the film is superb with an outstanding climax. Kick will laugh you hard, make you happy. One will be in awe with the grand scale and action scenes of the film. And yes it will make your eyes moist in 2nd half also.

Yes, there are flaws in Kick and specially in first half. Screenplay could have been tighter in few parts, as it looks lengthy in some parts. Still those are few. Song 'Jumme Ki Raat' is not that situational, but works because of its grand scale. Story in few places looks convenient, but again that will be as it is after all full on commercial potboiler. Overall flaws are minuscule and superb 2nd half makes up for it.

Songs are good of Kick with all 'Tu Hi Tu,' 'Hangover' and 'Jumme Ki Raat'. Even 'Yaar Naa Mile' looks good onscreen. Salman looks a riot in song theme 'Party All Night' and 'Saat Samundar.' Thumbs up to Himesh Reshammiya, Meet Bros Anjjan and Yo Yo Honey Singh for the music of Kick.

Dialogues by Rajat Arora for Kick is Fab! There are so many that one will need repeat viewing to remember all those. That dialogue 'Mere Baare Mein Itna Mat Sochna, Dil Mein Aata Hoon, Samaj Mein Nahi' is just Epic! Screenplay and writing is top notch from Chetan Bhagat, Rajat Arora and their team for Kick. Brawny points to them.

Sajid Nadiadwala direction is first rated for Kick despite being this his debut. There are few moments where his amateurish direction takes control of the film. But those are very few and that also in first half. Otherwise his work is like a pro. But there is no denying in his production value. Every frame of the film looks grandeur, as one can easily see how much money is spent in each frame. Kudos to Sajid to spent lavishly for his pet project. Production wise Kick is one notch higher than all Bollywood movies release till date.

Coming to performances.. Hard to find superlatives for Salman Khan in 'Kick.' He acts like a dream, sings like a dream, dances like a dream. Looks younger! His action sequences are World Class! Plus, this time he gets a good story as his backing. He is heart & soul 'Kick' without a single doubt. Yes, Kick is one of his best performance till date!

Jacqueline Fernandez looks Hot! She dances like a dream in 'Jumme Ki Raat' and looks stunning Hot in that. Her pairing with Salman looks absolutely fresh in big screen. God knows what this Sri Lankan beauty is doing so far long in Bollywood till now. Hope she gets and accepts good role from now on, otherwise a good talent gets wasted.

Randeep Hooda is fantastic. He matches every bit of Salman screen presence in each scene. You just can't overlook him despite having Salman in same frame. After 'Highway' and now 'Kick' he is here to stay in B Town for a long run.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui as 'Shiva Gajra' is just electrifying! He gives a stellar performance. He is definitely the 'Joker' in the pack. Hope he gets lots of big films in his career to showcase his talents to this big movie world.

Mithun, Saurabh Shukla and other supporting cast performance is first rated.

Verdict - Kick is a perfect Bollywood Commercial Potboiler for this Festive season. It has romance, comedy, action, drama and a good story to tell. Film will no doubt open big because of Salman Khan star power at box office. There is 'Eid' Holiday when film should do monumental business. But 'Kick' has literally everything to be a BIG BLOCKBUSTER at box office. Yes, it has enough legs to have a rocking run also in theaters!

Ratings - 4 and another Half for its Grand Scale. Don't miss this Kick, as it has 'Too Much Fun'. 'Bhaijaan Iss Baar Aap Eidi Le hi Jaayenge'.
