Mubarakan Movie Review. Clean Family Entertainer all the way!

Mubarakan starring Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D'Cruz, Athiya Shetty and Neha Sharma is big release of today. Film is directed by Anees Bazmee who earlier gave big hits with No Entry, Welcome and Ready. With such star cast and a super hit director in helm, what is in store from Mubarakan. Let's do the movie review.

Story: Story of Mubarakan is about two twin brothers Karan and Charan both played by Arjun Kapoor. Because of circumstances, Karan stays in London, whereas Charan shifts to Punjab. Karan loves Sweety (Ileana D'Cruz) and Charan loves Nafisa (Neha Sharma). However, because of circumstances and family pressure and prestige, Charan marriage is fixed to Binkle (Athiya Shetty). This led to total chaos in the life of Karan and Charan. With situation getting out of control, Karan and Charan decides to take help from their uncle Kartar Singh (Anil Kapoor). Will Karan and Charan able to marry love of their life? What will happen to Binkle then? For all these, one has to watch the film in theaters.

Film first half is absolute riot. There are lots of funny scenes. Every now and then comes a funny one liner which will make you laugh loud. Second half of the film is also good. But songs and few scenes comes as a road block specially after interval. Overall film is a good watch.

Coming to performances. Anil Kapoor is heart and soul of the film. Whenever he appears, he makes us laugh. At few moments he makes our eyes moist also. Overall, he is in full form again. If you loved him in No Entry and Welcome, definitely you will love him again in Mubarakan. He is a seasoned campaigner.

Arjun Kapoor is the surprise package of the film. He has simply come of age and delivered one of his best performances till date. He is cool and over-confident as Karan. Whereas subtle, shy and introvert as Charan. Both characters are pole apart and he delivers both the performances with elan.

Ileana D'Cruz looks hot and drop dead gorgeous and enacts are role very well. She keeps growing as an artist. Neha Sharma surprisingly plays her small role to the core and delivers first rate performance. Hope she gets more role in Bollywood. Athiya Shetty is the weak link in the film. She looks misfit in the role of Binkle. Still, she delivers a honest performance and definitely much improved from Hero.

Pavan Malhotra delivers a power packed performance. He is simply a riot at places. Ratna Pathak Shah does full justice to her role and delivers a first rated job.

Direction of Anees Bazmee is good. He is the captain of the ship and delivers a fun filled clean family entertainer in Mubarakan. Thumbs up to him.

Mubarakan is a laugh riot. Film has many funny one liners. There are loads of funny scenes specially in first half. Even in second half, there are loads of funny moments. However, 2nd half is bit stretched at places and film could have been easily trimmed by 10-15 minutes and 1-2 songs.

Verdict: Mubarakan is a total paisa wasool entertainer. Family audiences will come in big numbers atleast in opening weekend. There is a big chance that because of word of mouth, it might ride strong even in weekdays. However, there is big film coming next Friday in Jab Harry Met Sejal and it will be tough going from then on. Hence, film needs to collect as much as possible in first week itself.

Ratings: 3/5. Definite watch for all comedy film lovers. It is hilarious. Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor are the stars of the film. Also, Mubarakan is one of those rare clean films, where one can watch it with whole family. Recommended!
