As all new releases are biting the dust, its lull at box office right now. Anways pre-Diwali phase is always expected as a lull period. Now all eyes are on two big Diwali releases Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Interestingly Diwali Holiday will fall on Sunday-Monday this time and hence, there is a big chance that content and word of mouth will take over by then. Both the makers are silently confident with the product they have on the hand. Buzz for both the films is also good.
ADHM has garnered much needed publicity because of all the screening issues, which is rightly resolved now. Every Indian knows about the film by now. That will only help further as buzz is huge for the film. Shivaay has made all required initial impact with its theatrical trailer. Second trailer is also equally good, but may be little late coming.
As far as screening is concerned, both films are set to get screens over 2000. It will be interesting to see who will lead by the time of their respective releases. Shivaay should lead in single screens, whereas ADHM has a chance of leading in multiplexes.
Both Shivaay and ADHM is expected to do business over 100 crore. That is bare minimum expectation of trade. If either of the film or both content is liked, then collection may even touch 150 crore mark or even more. Hope this Diwali is not only a great one for all the audiences, but also for trade, exhibitors and distributors. Let's be positive.
