Akshay Kumar had two releases in 2015 in Baby and Gabbar is Back. Both received mostly feedback report from audiences and still failed to touch 100 crore nett mark. When big stars film are going past 150 crore nett mark and even crossing 200, Akshay Kumar is somewhat lagging behind. Even new stars like Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra movies have started touching 100 crore nett mark. Also, Kangana Ranaut starrer Tanu Weds Manu Returns went onto touch 150 crore nett this year and thus, becoming the 2nd highest grosser of the year. So, why is it so that Akshay is struggling big time to touch even 100. Has audiences lost interest in his film? Is the frequency of movies done by him is more now and ticket paying audiences can't afford all his movies. Or his string of bad choices movies specially in last few years have resulted in such outcome.
Anyways now there is lot riding with Brothers. Film is produced by easily one of the biggest banners of India in Dharma Productions. Also, apart from Akshay there is Sidharth Malhotra who has good fan following in youth. Film has got one the biggest release date as National Holiday falls on 15th August. Film is coming solo and set to get screens of 3500 at least across India. Both Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan who have rocked the Nation for last few weeks are running in lower level now. Everything is perfect for Brothers.
Trade who are eagerly waiting for the flick are expecting Brothers to take at least 20 crore nett opening or close to that. Plus, they are expecting weekend collection to be 60 crore nett or more. As per them buisness anything under 150 crore nett mark will be termed as under performance.
As for Akshay Kumar Brothers is his best bet to be his biggest film till date. If Brothers can't cross his Rowdy Rathore lifetime business set in 2012 and enter in 150 crore club then it will be big disappointment for him and his fans. Yes, trade is pretty sure that Brothers will bring Akshay back with bang. And we are also hoping for that for the time being.
