Tanu Weds Manu Returns has taken box office by storm on Saturday (2nd Day) and is rocking all over India. Film has collected around 13 crore nett on day 2 and thus registered a big growth of around 45-50% which is extraordinary considering the fact that Friday numbers are also big. Saturday jump suggest that film has got tremendous appreciation and may turn out as biggest grosser and also biggest Hit of the year. Now it looks highly likely that film might touch 100 crore nett mark or even go beyond that. This is just amazing considering film has literally moderate face value. However no one can deny the recall value of the first installment of the film.
TWMR has registered a very good occupancy of 60-65% on average for Saturday which is excellent for such genre films. Can't remember last time a film of such genre getting such high on average occupancy across all parts of India. At places occupancy for the day was as high as 75-80% with many Housefull shows reported.
TWMR two day total now stands at approx 22 crore nett. Film should show further jump on Sunday (3rd day) at box office. Jump may not be as high, reason being Saturday numbers are already on higher level. Still film has now chance to do business of 34-35 crore nett in first weekend which is just unthinkable before the release of the film. Film will register Hit status in 5-6 days flat and will march towards Super Hit or even Blockbuster status in coming days.
Collection Breakup -
Friday - 8.75 crore nett.
Saturday - 13 crore nett (est).
Total - 21.75 crore nett (approx).
