Bombay Velvet 1st Day Collection, Epic Disaster

Bombay Velvet has collected just around 5.25-5.5 crore nett on 1st Day (Friday) at box office as per estimates. Business on Day one is just inexplicable. With such dismal start film is finished in day one itself. Film is a huge disaster in epic proportion. With screen count of over 2500 and A list star cast film should have taken an ideal opening of 15+ crore nett. With huge budget of 100 crore riding on the film 15 crore should have been bare minimum. Yesterday when we received few samples mostly from metros, it is looking like that film might head for 8+ crore nett mark. But as datas are received from B centers and interiors actual has come much below the expected level. Even a figure of 8-9 crore would have been huge disappointment, forget about 5+ crore nett mark.
Ranbir Kapoor has now delivered few successive flops with Bombay Velvet topping that list by huge mile. He needs to rethink about his career now and do some serious introspection in signing future films. No body is spared be it Rajesh Khanna the Superstar of early 70s. Hence, work ethic should be taken seriously. Think Tamasha the next big release of Ranbir should take much better opening, but for that credit then might shift to Deepika Padukone and Imtiaz Ali. Overall Bombay Velvet has no chance to survive now at box office. Humongous loses on cards now.

  2. oh no... very bad news for RK fans... and industry as whole.

  3. @ adda today, why everyone is criticizing bombay velvet, it is way better than the craps called happy new year, chennai express, singham returns, bang bang, ready etc etc, the blame should not go to ranbir or anurag kashyap but to the indian audience, if this trend continues then bollywood will never evolve the way hollywood has. There are many genuine good films like guzarish, ugly, sangarsh, and many more that deserved to be superhits
